Accessibility Statement
Accessibility Commitment
Thread & Theory is committed to ensuring that our digital content is accessible to all individuals, regardless of ability. We strive to meet or exceed the standards outlined in the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 and to create a user experience that reflects our core values of clarity, inclusion, and respect.
We recognize that accessibility is an ongoing process. If you encounter any issues while using our website, or if you have feedback about how we can improve accessibility, we invite you to contact us directly. Your input helps us make our work more accessible, equitable, and responsive.
Land Acknowledgement
Acknowledging Place and Responsibility
Thread & Theory operates across two regions: Marion County, Florida (near Ocala), and the South Shore of Nova Scotia (near Halifax). We acknowledge that these lands are part of the traditional territories of Indigenous Nations who have stewarded them for generations.
In Florida, we respectfully recognize the lands of the Timucua, Seminole, and related Indigenous nations, whose presence continues despite centuries of displacement and violence.
In Nova Scotia, we live and work on the unceded and ancestral territory of the Mi’kmaq people, governed by the Treaties of Peace and Friendship, which were signed between 1725 and 1779. These treaties affirm nation-to-nation relationships and did not involve the surrender of land.
We acknowledge that we operate on lands shaped by histories of colonization, including the displacement of Indigenous peoples and the enslavement of African peoples whose labor built much of the infrastructure we continue to benefit from. We share this acknowledgement as a step toward transparency and as part of our responsibility to engage in ongoing education, relationship-building, and equity-driven practice.
Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Statement
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Commitment
Thread & Theory is a woman-owned business committed to advancing equity, access, and justice across all aspects of our work. We believe strategy is most effective when it reflects the complexity of the world we live in – and that inclusion is not an add-on, but a foundation for sustainable impact.
We work with clients of all backgrounds, industries, and identities, and we prioritize creating respectful, collaborative partnerships rooted in active listening, mutual learning, and cultural humility.
We continuously seek to challenge structural bias in business and design, and we remain committed to our own ongoing education around equity, accessibility, and anti-oppression practices.
Social Impact & Sliding Scale Access
Community Partnerships and Sliding Scale Support
Thread & Theory is proud to support mission-driven organizations, grassroots efforts, and values-aligned nonprofits working to serve the public good. We offer sliding scale consulting services to eligible nonprofits, community service groups, educators, and public interest organizations – based on need, size, and scope.
As capacity allows, we are also open to pro bono engagements, including:
- Sitting on advisory boards or roundtables
- Offering strategic planning or brand audits
- Supporting public awareness, accessibility, or equity-driven initiatives
We approach all of this work with care, and evaluate opportunities for volunteer involvement based on alignment, community impact, and available bandwidth.
If your organization is interested in sliding scale or pro bono support, please reach out to start a conversation.
